Ancestral Escapes is operated by Maxine Pye.
Ancestral Escapes curates and promotes escapes, events, hosted gatherings, and selected experiences for people interested in real food, coastal settings, nature, and a more ancestral way of living.
Some experiences may be hosted directly by Ancestral Escapes. Others may be arranged, delivered, or booked directly through third party venues or providers.

We do our best to ensure all information on this website is accurate and up to date. However, details may change from time to time, including dates, venues, prices, room arrangements, food arrangements, and optional activities.
Images used on the website may be for illustration, atmosphere, or destination reference and do not always represent the exact villa, venue, room, or final setup unless clearly stated.

Expressions of interest and waitlists
In some cases, Ancestral Escapes may collect expressions of interest before final details are confirmed.
Submitting an expression of interest or joining a waitlist does not create a confirmed booking and does not guarantee a place.
A place is only confirmed once you receive written confirmation from Ancestral Escapes or, where relevant, directly from the venue or third party provider.
Bookings with third party venues or providers
Some escapes, stays, or events featured on this website may be booked directly with the venue, villa owner, hotel, retreat centre, or another third party provider.
Where this applies, your booking contract for accommodation and any venue services will be with that third party provider, not with Ancestral Escapes.
In these cases
• Accommodation terms, cancellation terms, payment schedules, refunds, room allocation, and venue policies will be set by the venue or provider
• You are responsible for reviewing and accepting their terms before booking
• Ancestral Escapes is not responsible for the acts, omissions, policies, failures, or changes made by third party venues or providers
Bookings made directly with Ancestral Escapes
Where Ancestral Escapes takes payment directly for a hosted event, gathering, or experience, the specific booking details, payment terms, and cancellation terms will be clearly stated at the time of booking.
No booking is confirmed until payment has been received and written confirmation has been issued.
Prices and payment
All prices shown on the website are in pounds sterling unless otherwise stated.
Prices may change at any time before a booking is confirmed.
Where a deposit or payment is required, the payment terms will be clearly explained at the time of booking.
If an experience is being booked directly with a venue or third party, Ancestral Escapes is not responsible for collecting, processing, refunding, or disputing those payments unless clearly stated otherwise.
Cancellations and refunds
If you book directly with a third party venue or provider, their cancellation and refund terms will apply.
If you book directly with Ancestral Escapes, any cancellation terms and refund terms will be set out clearly at the time of booking.
Ancestral Escapes reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel an escape, event, gathering, or hosted experience where reasonably necessary, including where there is insufficient interest, venue changes, host illness, safety concerns, travel disruption, or circumstances outside our control.
If Ancestral Escapes cancels an experience booked directly with us
You will be offered either:
• A refund of the amount paid directly to Ancestral Escapes
• An alternative date or transfer option, where appropriate
Ancestral Escapes is not responsible for refunding flights, travel insurance, transport, accommodation booked separately, or any other third party costs unless required by law.
Travel arrangements and insurance
Guests are responsible for arranging their own travel unless clearly stated otherwise.
You are also responsible for ensuring that you have valid travel documents, appropriate insurance, and any personal arrangements needed for your trip.
We strongly recommend that all guests take out suitable travel insurance covering cancellation, illness, travel delays, personal belongings, and any activities they choose to take part in.
Health, wellbeing, and personal responsibility
Ancestral Escapes promotes real food, nature, movement, and time away in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Nothing on this website or at any event should be treated as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
You are responsible for your own health, wellbeing, choices, and participation at all times.
If you choose to take part in swimming, walking, hiking, boat trips, group meals, or any optional activities, you do so at your own risk.
Before attending
You must inform us in advance of any serious medical condition, allergy, mobility issue, or dietary issue that may affect your stay or the safety of others.
We reserve the right to decline or end participation where we reasonably believe a booking may not be suitable, safe, or manageable.
Food and dietary information
Where food is included or discussed, Ancestral Escapes may describe the intended food style, such as animal based meals or meals prepared without seed oils.
However, final food arrangements may depend on the venue, chef, villa setup, local availability, or third party providers.
We do our best to communicate preferences clearly, but we cannot guarantee absolute freedom from specific ingredients, allergens, or cross contamination unless this has been specifically confirmed in writing.
Optional activities
Any optional activities mentioned on the website, such as walking, hiking, surfing, paddleboarding, boat trips, spa access, or similar experiences, are for general information only unless clearly included.
Optional activities may be offered by independent third parties and may be subject to availability, weather, local conditions, and separate charges.
Ancestral Escapes is not responsible for third party activity providers or for the cancellation, quality, safety, or delivery of any optional activity not directly run by us.
Guest conduct
We want Ancestral Escapes experiences to feel relaxed, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.
We reserve the right to refuse, remove, or end a booking without refund where a guest behaves in a way that is abusive, disruptive, aggressive, unsafe, unlawful, or causes serious discomfort or risk to others, venues, hosts, or staff.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ancestral Escapes shall not be liable for any indirect loss, consequential loss, disappointment, travel disruption, third party failures, or costs arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
